5thbatt, it's strange how the world works, I came across what I think is a pair of 32 nash wheels on front end (trailer-afied) today.

it amazes me what you can find if you look for it. I've spotted all sorts of interesting 20's and 30's stuff, but i'm still hoping for a farm find '28 dodge fast four chassis, victory 6 axles and wire wheels, maybe one day.

Rumour has it that there is a garaged GTHO Shaker with only 19 miles on the clock somewhere near Dardanup in W.A story goes the young chap had just brought it brand new parked it at the farm went out with his mates leaving the GTHO home and was tragically killed in a MVA. The parents put it in the barn whence it may still be. Could be a great find if stored correctly or a disaster if the chooks were allowed to nest in it either way just what I heard.......

I heard a similar story in the late 90's of a GTHO somewhere around Mudgee in NSW. the car was bought new by a farmers son, within the first year or so or ownership the son was driving home drunk without his seatbelt on, ran off the road through a fence, fell out and was killed. the farmer kept the lightly damaged car in a shed as a memorial to his son and refused to even consider parting with it.
it was a great story, i'd love for a low mileage GTHO to turn up in a farm shed, but i'll believe it when I see it.

for the non Australians out there the GTHO were basically homologation specials of the factory tuned GT versions of late 60's early 70's Australian made ford falcons. at the time they were considered the fastest production 4 door car in the world... the phase3, with the limiter removed, 140+mph and mid 14 second 1/4's, fast by 1971 standards. now they're are highly collectable and worth stupid money.

After looking through 600 mk5 plastic oil bottles we found 2 bright orange ones. Not the amber ones but bright opaque orange!
Proper lifeboat orange. But neither had tops

Has anyone seen anymore ? Any ideas?

I managed to stumble over one, unfortunately it doesn't have an orange cap. The manufacturing details indicate its of Canadian origin, unless my 'Canadian' examples are in fact British, but I don't believe so.

Guess they figured those would be easier for us to find when we dropped them in the bush...or the snow...
