Adam, More than likely it originally had the Mk.II flip sight in '43. Stamped steel Mk.3 (stamped Mk.II) and Mk.4 (stamped C Mk.III) would've been used to replace the Mk.II post war.

Looks like the barrel has been shortened, about three inches including the bayonet lugs.
This sort of shortened No.4 , otherwise intact, was used by African Game Wardens.
Even if not entirely correct with a shortened barrel it does look to be a handy woods rifle.

Looks good indeed.
Many sporterized No4 have just a tiny bit cut off; 1 to 1.5 inches maybe? Just behind the bayo lugs. Too bad... Especially since I believe this would have only been done for aestetic reasons.
