I’d earlier posted my dilemma when I opened a 8 lb jug of what was supposed to be surplus IMR 4895 but actually was at least 5 different powders mixed together. I’d purchased two jugs of this surplus IMR 4985, had just finished one & opened the second.

I’d bought this powder 2 or 3 years ago and no longer had the receipt or shipping container. I contacted each of three sellers from whom I thought I may have bought the powder and asked them check to see if I had bought the powder from them and, if so, would they exchange the bad powder. The first to reply said he’d checked my orders back to 2000 and I hadn’t ordered any powder (I’d often looked at their website looking for powder). The second said I had not purchased any 4895 powder from them. The third, with out any questions or quibbling, said a refund check for the full purchase price would be mailed to me and that I should destroy the powder.

I don’t know if naming names is allowed, but each of these sellers responded in a polite, concerned manner that greatly impressed me. I’m certain that if either of the first two had made the mistake, they would have made it good as well. The seller refunding the purchase price is a model of responsibility.
