    I'd agree with what people above have said -- it most definitely isn't unfired or even anywhere near new. It has also seen Indian service as everyone has spotted. However, it isn't in bad order, it has an original bracket, transit chest & scope tin with it, & it comes with a very scarce Vickers Mk2/1 scope (hence the two digit serial number stamped into the butt). If it were priced sensibly it would be worth a punt, but not for me at 7000+ dollars!

    P.S. Peter.....never say never....the next time we meet up I'll show you a near mint Indian issue BSA 44 T, complete with all the original brunofixing. The only conclusion I could come to was that it must have spent its Indian service career hanging on the wall of the officers mess!
