My grandfather fought in the Indian Wars in the Sioux Campaign in North Dakota in 1890 to 1982. I was wondering if anyone here might know what type rifle he would have carried. He was a dispatch rider in the 1st Cavalry. I'm guessing a Springfield Model 1873, but I really am only guessing.
