A friend is considering selling an 1895 ChileanMauser, made by Leowe's and chambered in 7x57. Appears to be all original, slight surface rust and minor pitting under the wood, otherwise appears to be in good shape and all original. I'm interested in buying it if I can afford it, but neither of us knows what a fair price would be.
What is the going price these days for an 1895 Chilean Mauser? He says his is an "intermediate" length (I guess that would be a "short rifle"?) with a 22" barrel.
As a related question, I think I saw in another post here that Chilean Mausers made by Leowe's are all pre-1898 and don't have to be shipped through an FFL. Is that correct?Information
