Query on an early Chrissy present

Got this and know what it is, but not quite how it measures. One side of the scale is marked GRAMM. Have checked with BP and it´s fairly accurate. It goes up to 4 grammes but the scale on the opposite side reads 10 (2 reads 5). So it can´t be grains. It could well be German and was obviously made for BP in that era. Can anyone help with the non-gramme scale?
