Came across three interested Enfields marked as BritishEnfield bolt action rifles. Noticed the sights right away. Looks like EFD has most of the wooden parts I need. I guess I did okay as both rifles have un cut original barrels, original No 1 Mk V rear sight assemblies and original "V" marked safeties. Both rifles are 1924 models. The bores cleaned up beautifully!! Both rifles need a good cleaning. I see EFD has repro rear sight assemblies for about $430 US. With taxes, etc I paid about $190 for each rifle.
The third rifle was a mostly complete rifle (less the reinforcing band) that I missed at $450. Was probably a better deal than my two sporterized rifles.
First rifle has matching bolt and the bluing is in excellent shape. They added a homemade front sight protector and drilled through the front sight base (will need to replace). The second rifle has a mis-matched bolt but both rifles have matching and un-cut original barrels.
I have a couple of originals in the safe and sold a third a few years ago.
