While looking on Ebay for current prices for a trapdoor Civil War bayonet and scabbard I came across a seller that had both a dug bayonet and leather scabbard (two different holes) for sale. Since the scabbard was found in the ground, he soaked it in ethylene (Spelling) glycol to remove the moisture and stabilize it.
Anybody ever hear of this?Information
