1918 NRF No1 MkIII*

Completed this one last month after a years work:


1918 NRF No1 MkIII* rebuilt postwar in 1953 at BSA using a BSA commercial barrel. This thing will flat SHOOT!

Quite proud of this one as I did a lot more than restore an old sporter with a new replacement woodset. The woodset I used had really seen better days, very battle hardened, having been in Indian service a long time. I removed the Ishy screw and plugged the hole. Also replaced the draws, and repaired a crak on the right side of the fore end. The butt needed a new heel and toe, and the socket stub was really worn out. The front handguard I recieved from a CGNer was brand new but quite oversized. None of it color matched! I also re "suncorited" it with multiple coats of John Deere muffler paint over the original finish so it can go back to the original suncorite if the Deere paint was a mistake. Took a lot of work but it sure turned out well in the end.
