    7.62x25mm chamber liner

I picked up some old DP No1's a while back. I really just got them for the wood to use on some sporterized guns I have,,, but after some moonshine one night my inner Bubba called to me saying "you must shoot one of these old girls."

If you're a purist, read no more. Just hit the Back button now and save yourself from the horror.

I told my inner Bubba, "it's a DP and not safe to shoot." He was pouring the shine now and replied that, "You could use a 7.62x25mm chamber liner. It's just a pistol round. The old girl will be fine." Well, that seemed reasonable,,, at the time. "But what if the chamber liner falls out? Someone might put a full power .303 round it." I replied. "No problem", says Bubba. "Use some of that High Temp JB Weld that's out in the garage. It ain't going fall out if you use that." He's always looking for a reason to use JB Weld. "But Bubba! The extractor will jam on the chamber liner lip." "Good point." Bubba says. "You could cut the lip away with your Dremel."

So, me and Bubba did just that. We put some High Heat JB Weld on the liner, pressed it into the chamber, cut a slot for the extractor and closed the bolt with a dummy round in it.

The next morning I woke up and wondered "What have I done?" Bubba was nowhere to be found and I decided I would cut the receiver up with an angle grinder later. But as the day went on I reflected on what Bubba said about it only being a pistol round and.......

She shot just fine. Only problem was too much firing pin protrusion and that was an easy fix.
