Picked up this Kokura Type 38 this weekend. Nothing really special about it, but it was so cheap I had to buy it. Wasn't until I got it home that I noticed the very small import mark on the underside of the muzzle. 'OK', I thought, 'Chinese capture..kinda neat'. Then I just now noticed the lack of the splice in the buttstock. I'm guessing a Chinese made replacement stock, and it looks like a pretty nicely made one. There are some Chinese characters written in what appears to be pencil in the barrel channel. I'll try to get some clear pics of that, but they're pretty faint. Anyway, pretty neat rifle with some pretty hard history, I would imagine.Information
