This housing has been in my spare parts stash for years. I was never able to determine the maker so it was never used on a project. I have been digging though the stash figuring out what I can get rid of. It has all the features of a Type II. Beveled rear lug , flat rear wall and flat front.I reference the Riesch book 5th edition.
The markings on the right side are poorly struck. The picture shows it well, I don't think it looks any better in person. What may identify the contractor to some one of you is a very nicely struck number twelve on the bottom and also an A over on the left small space next to that.
Maybe one of you who have access to The Carbine Club newsletters might have info on what contractor these extra markings might be attributed to. I sold off most of my collection , so I don't have any examples here to compare it with.
Right now I am leaning towards Quality Hardware or S'G' .
