Purchased two Fazakerly's recently, one arrived today, you will have to wait until tomorrow for the second if FedEx holds true.
The first girl, I hope someone can help me with, I have seen a few marked like this in the past and finally bit and purchased one.
It is a 4/44 Fazakerly that was FTR'd; and per the electropencil it was redated 1944. Was Fazakerly FTR-ing during the war also or did they just remark the original date of manufacture???? My earliest FTR dated rifle from Fazakerly is a '47. The rifle is all matching with a new, undated barrel that is s/n'd to the rifle. The forend, hand guards and front band are Savage, the rest is a mixture of UKmade parts.
Due to the Savage parts used during the FTR my feeling that it is a 1946ish rebuild or was Savage sending spares over with complete rifle's during the war??
Thanks in advance.Information
