Just found a early Lyman Alaskan All Weather marked scope..It is serialled #31,371 which according to Bell and Seijasicon article..is just a few serialls off the start of the first assigned block for the M81 (#31,501-31,850). It has early domed adjustment cap with serrations and sniper style post. It appears to be one of the last commercial wartime Lyman scopes just prior to start of military M81 contract....of further interest .it is mounted in Griffin and Howe M-1 C mount....blued but no rifle serial issue number on mount (1932 pat. marked)..I am thinking this might have been put aside and never issued as a replacement for M-1C..appreciate any comments...Hemi
