Trying to identify a scope?

Morning all,

My Father in Law dug out an old scope he used in conjunction with a micro meter set up back in the late 1960's for target shooting, any ideas as to its origin?

He is from a post war austerity generation that adapted and adopted whatever rifles and kit could be found for target work from the mid 1950's onward, generally Milsurp in origin, his old rough shooting jacket was a 1942 dated Denison smock for instance ... before I sold it for him for £££! a few years back.

it appears to be 4x15 or 20 and focused on infinity with a reasonably fine cross hair reticle, approx 21cm (8") in length with a 1" diameter tube.

Was this scope slaved and bore sighted to launcher/medium calibre gun of some kind, or was it civilian in origin?

Any ideas team Milsurps??
