Face plate rivets

I finely go up enough nerve to replace the chrome rivets on my face plate, pretty easy job.
Some one did a pretty good job on the leather but went crazy with round headed chrome rivets.
I was not sure which rivets to use, brass or steel. every where I looked I got a diff. answer .
Some said the correct rivets for my serial number range 695709 would be brass, other's said no, it would be steel ones, that the brass one's were used on the rebuilds.
I looked at a lot of pic's of A1;s that were close to my sn's and looked org. most of them had the brass one's. anyway I went with the aged brass ones with no numbers on the head.
I left the leather alone, I like the worn look,
