    I got the idea somewhere that they were meant to be used once and discarded. Maybe it was the talk about them coming forward loaded from manufacture with caps on, used and dropped. Don't remember where I saw that.

    Yes, trim and chamfer, all must be done. Then seating has to be checked. I never had trouble because of that. Others I know did.
