Today I had the honor of helping keep one of our most worshiped military cemeteries (the Sacrario di Redipuglia) open for visitors.
12 hours mostly under the blazing sun, with a few intervals in the two small museum rooms (with light aircon).
It was a catartic day. I thought a lot. Prayed. Welcomed people and helped them find refreshment or their relative’s tombs.
Over 100.000 fallen are buried there. 60.000 and more are unknown. The rest are buried in individual tombs in a monumental valley.
