Greetings everyone,
One again, this is my first posting time here on the CSPicon 1911 forum and I am somewhat new to collecting military 1911's so any opinions or recomendations would be greatly appreciated. Anyhow, here are some pics of what appears to be a pretty clean WWII arsenal rebuilt Colt M1911 has recently been added to my humble collection. The pistol seems to have most of its original 1911 parts however upon field stripping it, I discovered that the barrel is an s marked WWII replacement. The grips also appear to be GI walnut replacements and I also noticed that the recoil spring appears to have been cut slightly shorter. The finish is an old gray/green parkerized finish that seems identical to other WWII era M1911A1's that I have seen and seems legit. Markings seem crisp and edge/parts wear seem to be even overall so it doesnt appear to be a buba job however I could be wrong. The problem I have is that the pistol frame does not have any arsenal rebuild stamps/marks anywhere that I can see. I've been told that this is not uncommon and may be indicative of a military depot/arsenal overhaul. Once again any opinions/information provided would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Cliff
