Hello,
I don't post a lot which is not to say that I don't read some of the posts and I do own about 20 righteous specimens of the venerable L/E. Be that as it may, I could use your help on this one. Your collective knowledge is always valuable. I recently acquired a very nice 1945 LB, s/n 89L84XX. The furniture is so perfect that it can't be original in spite of the fact that the forend is serialed. There is no indication of an FTR. For one the furniture is a deeply coloured walnut, generally not available to the Canadians. The wrist of the buttstock is marked with P and underneath, 58. Perhaps Pakistani with the date of manufature? Stamped next to it but at 180 degrees in orientation from it is IW with 82 directly underneath. What is the origin of the wood? Second , the sight is a Mk2 with a P in a circle. Pakistani? Any help is always appreciated. A very Merry Christmas to all who read this.
