It can't be that simple.
Today I received the Reproduction scope mount to use on my RFI T. It fits as if mated by a ghost of Holland & Holland. A 1 inch "Tasco 1.75x5X40 fits the rings to correct eye relief and concentric to bore. Checked with my Chinese military bore sighter. But I have to wait until warmer for range test. This was too easy. Gary

I'm pretty sure that including pictures is mandatory for posts like that.

But life WERE that easy Arado. Unscrew the rear thumbscrew and see if the bracket swings OUTWARDS at the rear. Now unscrew the front screw and see if it swings OUTWARDS at the front. If it does any of these, then that is strain on the bracket. And strain on the bracket equals strain on the front pad. And strain on the front pad equals shock loading to the soft soldered joint and screws when firing (anti clockwise torque) which WILL break the seal and loosen the screws.
You might truly have struck oil with a perfect match. But somehow.........

Well I did the test. no swings. Rock solid. At least I can shoot this one for it is of little value. My L42A1 and Long branch remain deep in bunker. Thanks, Gary

Gary, Turning the L42 and Long Branch (a (T)?) into paper weights just seems wrong.

I can take a hint. I am recovering from a neurological issue. Thorassic outlet syndrom. Caused by rifle recoil. I will undertake picture taking as a therapy. No recoil. Stand by. VR Gary
