I had a 1949 many years ago but it was also a rebuild. It was interesting to see another from that era that appears to have the date/insignia, etc looking almost hand-done compared to the later SKS. I've forgotten a lot of what I knew but I do remember that the 1949 had a spring for the firing pin. NIce rifle but rebuilt at least twice but still rare.
