Milsurp Ammo Pics
I was re-organizing my ammo storage and thought I'd share a few pics of samples of some of the milsurp ammo I've accumulated (hoarded) over the years.
Feel free to correct my identifications, as I've forgotten what a lot of it is for sure.
And no, none of it is for sale.

7.62x54R:
From top left to right:
Hungarian
light ball in charger and in the paper and tar package;
Soviet
ball in 15 round boxes;
Hungarian heavy ball in string wrapped wax paper;
Romanian(?) in the grey boxes, lacquered steel cases;
Soviet(?) ball in 125 rd package from Century, price $30 on package;
Soviet match in yellow boxes, brass cased;
Norma soft points. If you squint you can see the $38 price tag and that ammo is at least 25 years old!

.303 British
IVI ball and soft point. No, it's not stolen, it's my Ranger issue ammo;
In bandoleers, 1950 British Radway Green;
In the plastic bags, FNM 1950 ball on chargers;
Big boxes, 1986 FNM ball;
FN 1950 ball, note the "Bren" designation in the close up;

7.92x57mm
Left to right, top row:
Loose in ammo can, Ecuadorian;
FN tracer, in 100 rd box and on the charger;
Czech
(?) copper-washed, steel case, on the charger and in the two boxes under it;
Box with crest, Ecuador;
Open box and in spam can above, Romanian light ball, lacquered steel case;
Next row:
German
war-time S.m.K;
Late war Czech;
Pink wrapper, Romanian or Czech war-time, dated '43;
FNM ball in 80 rd box;
Last two boxes on right, Czech too?

Very cool - thanks. Very wise to "hoard" it. I've done the same thing with 7.62x51, 8x56R, 8mm Lebel, 8x57, 7.62x54R, etc. and no it's not for sale either.
I could easily see that it would not last forever, and am now stockpiling the 7.62x39.........

I don't have as much x54R as I'd like, but I'm sure we'll see more of it in the future. I bought two cases of the Czech
M43 as well, one of them is dated 1959! As long as it goes bang, I'm happy.
I whole heartedly agree with "making hay while the sun shines", or buying it when it's around. Once the milsurp dries up, it's a reloading proposition for most milsurp rifles. I did a rough count of the rounds I have in storage and I was surprised at the total. It creeps up there when you buy more than you shoot.
Claven generously offered to shoot my 8x57 through his MG34, but I can't run short when the zombie hordes invade, now can I?
