Late postwar Mauser Bolo question
Picked up a late post war Bolo, 7.63 mauser, 3 1/2 barrel, 550,xxx serial number, all matching, all original, 80% plus condition, import marked, on a trade.
Any idea of value?, have $250 in the pistol.
Was told I can shoot 7.62 X 25 Tokarev in the pistol?
Any idea of source's on ammo, stipper clips, stock holster combo?
Thanks, remi

Yes it does shoot Takarev, but I would stay away from the surplus stuff coming in from the Eastern block countries, I heard it is too hot for this revolver. I was getting some ammo from Portugal but the distributor I was getting it from has changed formats or something and they not longer carry it. You might try Fiochi or Privi (excuse spelling ) if you roll your own that is the way to go, that is what I ended up doing. Lee makes an inexpensive die set and brass is available. For $250 you got a great deal, reading up on it I have found it is recomended to put a service pack of springs in it, they are available from Wolf springs and run around $12.00. I have seen stripper clips at Numrich, I was just looking at some the other day. They had some originals and some Chinese. You need these to load the gun any other way is a PIA.

I think you will find the surplus ammo loaded for the Tokarev is way too hot for the Mauser. The .30 Mauser round does not have the pressure of the Tokarev. The surplus Tok rounds around today were loaded for the sub-guns first and the pistols second. The top .30 mauser rounds were loaded around 1400 fps while the hottest surplus Tok is hitting around 1600 fps. So to save your Mauser stick with the ammo made for it.
