I'm doing the same thing you did. I started with a new Beretta rec in the 6K range that I picked up at the Stutgart gun show (Germany
) many years ago. I've been slowly working on getting the parts needed, but have been looking for new parts rather than used since I'm building on a new receiver.
I still need some parts - the hand guard clip, rear sights, gas cyl assy and seems like a few other small parts, but it's slowly coming togather.

How were you able to get the receiver into the USA
? Can it still be done?

Check with Tony at Orion 7, he had a big stash of PB and Breda parts, might still.

I think almost all of those parts were (or are) on Gunbroker in the past few weeks.
