Here's my #5720096. A transitional vintage so I am told. Oval, Low, 4 rivet, cartouch there, but hard to photograph. Let me know what you think, or if you have one close to it. It's as I found it. Thanks. Mike.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. While you may not like the quality of your pics, I think the "effect" of the lighting almost makes the pictures "art-work" quality. It would be neat to have a few of the shots made into larger prints for framing. Great job on the pics from my point of view.

Oh, almost forgot... the carbine? All great photographs start with great looking models.... NICE!!!!

I sold a 57191xx on GB this winter. It had a very similar light grey park, like yours, which i guess is common on winnies. It was a rebuild, so no point in comparing parts. Yours looks like a great find!
