At the Birmingham International, today (13/06/10) didnt have that much time or cash.
Had a quick chat with Roger Payne, returned home with a few bayonets (Pics on the Edged weapons forum)

Two Enfields that stood out, a Siamease SMLE looked a nice example, but was deactivated but for £250 would make a nice wall hanger.

Other Enfield of interest was a, Royal Irish Constabulary MLE CC, again this was deactivated didn,t get the price

Didn't go this time but often do - never find it much use for live guns but sometimes good for those 'bits and bobs' for enfields with some careful searching.

Some nice examples pop up now and again (not always Enfields), last year was one of the best days i had there, walked away with my arms full, three Martini Henry,s and a nice Rock Island Arsnal M1903, the M1903 was a steal I couldnt get my hands in my pockets fast enough, in fact my pockets were empty within ten minutes, and had to bend the plastic but well worth it.

Nice rifles Duke. I've always fancied having an 03 but my cabinet's packed as it is. The last slot will hopefully soon be filled by a BSA Mod E sporting rifle. In 303 of course. Just waiting on the variation.

I Highly recommend one Harry.

Excellent rifles, As much as I love Enfields, if i was in the USA i,d have a lot more of these.
Its just the price,s over here are a bit OTT for me.

Big duke, I bloody well HATE the pratts that force folks to de-act rifles.
Was at a shop years ago and there was a beautiful Long Lee with target sights being de-acted. the plod had bullied the old fellow into having that done. "Since you are getting to old to compete in rifle matches, you should have it de-acted"

Did you hear about the WW1 officer's single shot sniping rifle that was removed from the GUARDS Museum to be de-acted?

Now another disturbing one, Last year T.E. Lawrances smle was taken off display at the IWM for "work" Want to guess what that was?

Deactivation would be against the IWM's policy and so I think it highly unlikely.
