Wow, what a mixmaster.

I have had this carbine for 25 years, shot it heaps, loved it to bits and it has never let me down. Bought a book the other day and began to ID parts. It has been through a rebuild but man what a rebuild, didn't think a 6-44 would need so many parts replaced. I think I like it more now that I know it is such a mongrel but has behaved so well all these years!

I have one Standard Products which has zero Standard Products parts other than the receiver - which I think goes against the odds mathmatically. It is very strange how some carbines can show signs of alot of use over 65 years and still have a majority of original parts. On the other hand some carbines look like they have spent 50 years boxed up but a majority of their parts are replacements. Either way, most of them still function as accurately and dependently as they did 65 years ago.

We all like to see pics of carbines - anything you care to post. I like to see the overall condition and finish. Sometimes the wear (or lack of wear) just tells a story of where the carbine has been and what it has been through.

I have fired several thousand rounds so most of the wear is mine also I had to remove the evil and dangerous bayonet lug to comply with a change in NZ law about 15 years ago.
I know I can hear all serious collectors screaming but hey I have only one carbine and either I modify it and shoot it or lose it.
You guys have made me late for work now!

All I can say is "WOW". That is a NICE carbine! You also did a great job with the pictures.

Unfortunately, us in the States know that we could never get our hands on that one, even to shoot a few rounds. It is a wonderful piece of history!
