Sorry about bumping an old topic guys, but do any of you have an idea what my rifle might be worth in it's current condition? Photos are posted above. According to my gunsmith the action is mechanically sound though he is concerned the chamber may be worn...

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. more then likely you have an oversized chamber, common issue with 1917,s iv seen them pretty bad, and all the ones iv seen were Winchesters, im betting they had a worn or loose reamer when making a few barrels.
havnt paid attention to the serial numbers or dates on the barresl.
as for a value..id say close to 175.00 to 225.00 if someone wanted a good strong action to build a rifle.
