Thank You Dave,
Mike down in New Zealand
contacted me last night, asking if I'd heard anything about a new book by Larson. Told him I hadn't but knew that there was a Larson involved with L&S supply. I attached a desktop file of the L&S Catalog down to O'Hagan. I used it for comparison.
I just happened across the book when copy/pasting links about George for use by Greystone 45 in the other post.
I'll send along the CMP
link to Mike.
Thanks again for the help.
Getting tough out there..... Isn't it?

The problem is that people will buy the book and turn all that information into fact and the gospel! What a shame!
Just like words in the dictionary, people say them enough and soon they show up on a page in Webster's! Irregardless is a perfect example.

Just like I told Mikey51 in New Zealand
,
Real original parts are now being questioned as being authentic. I fear soon the repros will set the bar as being original. Thank God for the hard work done by the CC members both the early and current ones. Other than the wasted money being spent on parts thought to be real and the sick feeling of finding out there fake (much like a sucker punch) These repros can be pulled and junked.
It's the stocks I've come to love with their original markings, but there is no endless supply. Once some idiot decides to hump a stock stamp, it's ruined for life.
I still feel it's a dis-grace to those who served and carried these weapons.
I will pass the information about the Larson book down to O'Hagan along with the CMP
post supplied by Dave- USGIcollector.

Back on 11/27 I had a forum discussion here with one of our highly regarded experts about the need for PUBLISHED information to be used as a reference for the general public who don't and won't join these forums. The bad guys seem to have won the race.........

I recall Roger/Bubba saying this was more or less going to happen. He had stated that he was seeing many original parts and there markings being called out as fakes.
Guard your loins!

Yes it is tough, I was interested on an early M1A1
a week or so ago, called the guy and everything. Truly looked like the real deal to me, but I had a question about the hammer. I asked one of the real experts on these things and I got a couple of responses from him and another of our highly respected members with pics of the part in question. I am glad I did because the hammer is not correct, and I saved myself from getting that oh no sick feeling in my stomach when I opened the box with my new toy in it. At least it seems like mikey51 doesn't have as much of a fakery problem. He just has to stop them from cutting them up!!!
