[Snafu]

A ski trooper from the 15th Infantry Regiment poses in test equipment at Paradise on Mount Rainier in Pierce County, Washington. The soldier has a cartridge belt and holds a rifle and wears a loose fitting jump-suit with a hood, and booties tied with rope at the ankles. He stands in a snowy clearing. Trees and Mount Rainier summit are in the distance. Date 1941

Snafu, is that a gas trap he's holding in the last pic? The third pic that says Ft Lewis is strange, I've done my share of time there and I don't remember any training area that looks like that background. I wonder if he's on Mt Ranier too.
