Are A4 safeties lettered with or without serifs? Also with or without R stamps?

As my math professor would answer, yes.

My A4 safety has a R with seriff.

Is just the R serifed, or do the words "safe" and "ready" have serifs also? Is a safety with no R stamp and serifed words correct? If safeties can be correct either way, what about bolt sleeves? Should they be marked with an R?

The style of lettering on an A4 safety lock depends on the serial number.
All are marked with an "R" on the rear surface.

It would be on an early A4, first two months of production.

The safety on my A4 SER # 3422xxx has the words "ready" and "safe" in block letters. On the rear of the safety is an "R" with seriff.
I also have another safety that has the "ready" with seriff and the "SAFE is block letters and the "R" on the back edge is block letter.
Another safety I have has all block letters.
as far as a bolt sleeve, they are marked with an "R" and could be with or without seriff.
Post your ser # and John Beard with tell you what would be correct.
