My general rules: I try to keep about 1,500 to 2,000 rounds per long gun, and 500= 1,000 for each pistol. .22 LR I have about 10,000. I have over 2,000 for the AR and 2,000 for the VZ-58. I have a spare VZ-58 bolt and carrier group and I also have spare piston, recoil, trigger, and striker springs. I also keep at least 10 magazines for each long gun, and 5 for a pistol.

A word about 7.62x39 ammo. All FMJ is pretty much equal, though flat based like Yugo
M67 and Barnaul Brown and Silver Bear yaws and tumbles faster than BT Wolf. Of all the Russian
, Barnaul/Silver/Brown 124 JSP is very good at expanding (better than Wolf 122 JSP), as is Wolf 154 grain. The best, however, is Wolf Military Classic 124 grain HP (NOT Black Box Wolf 122 JHP). It use the Ulyvostok designed 8M3 "Sapsan" HP bullet. It is also called the "fragtastic" bullet. It is a Russian designed anti-personel round with striations inside the jacket to help it open up. It will fully expand in a milk jug of water. I have seen pictures of wild boar (200+ pound) that have been devastated by it. It breaks up like a 5.56mm M-193 FMJ at 3200 FPS, but has almost 2.5 times the mass. Google it (especially image search). Best part is that it runs about $200/1,000!
