Type in UN-Quality in the Search Box at the top right of this page. It will bring up several previous threads on UN Q's/QHMC's

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... No one should answer that other than he himself, kinda the idea of user names. Look back through the posts for the past week or so you should find one he has responded to and send him a PM.

I was fortunate to be able to buy two "UN-Quality" barreled receivers through the Carbine Club about ten years ago --they cost $328 each at the time. After putting them together with all correct QHMC parts (according to Carbine Club Newsletter #338, November 2006), I still have fun taking one of them to a gunshow table that offers several carbines and playing dumb newbie, asking, "What is this, some kind of reject?" then waiting to see what the guy does! You'd probably not be surprised how many tell me it's a reject that was never accepted, but he'll give me $350 for it anyway!

I've been thinking about selling mine. Its a little too common for my collection.....Just too many around, you know, like the Irwin Pedersons.......

    Hey Jim,

I'll help you with that space problem you have. How about $400 per Un-Quality that I take off your hands. It will keep you from having to clean and oil them before you put them back into your safe.

(Oh, that's you pay ME $400 per carbine that I take off your hands)

I'll help you out and even pay shipping on that for you!

Naw, $400 is a little too steep. The trash collector will haul it to the dump for $10.

wtmr: Is a farmer who likes to hunt hogs, day or night. At night, he says, You can't see'm till they are real close. You smell them first and shoot. Owns one junker carbine, a import Blue Sky with a 9m/m muzzle, I think. He said, I put a flash light ducktaped to the barrel. I then turn it on and empty the mag. Great fun. He told me once, he actually got one that way. When he runs out of ammo, he uses his Jeep to run them over.
Score to date: Hogs 1, wtmr zero.
He does sell on GB from time to time. I have bought from him many times.
If I have a carbine question, I email wtmr first.
Slow day and BQ does not post much anymore.
Jim, Good to see you posting.
