Since the OP seemed to be asking about how to use a 2-point webbing sling the traditional way, I thought I'd post this picture of myself using an M91/30 with a hasty sling setup.

Its not perfect, but you get the idea. With a Lee-Enfield, you loop each end of the sling through the swivel, like in this picture of my 1916 BSA. Normally, you would loop it with the clasps on the inside of the sling (that is to say, in this picture the sling is upside down).

To use it right-handed, you hold the pistol grip of the rifle with your right hand. Then you put your left arm through the space between the sling and the rifle. Push your arm down, twist it out to the left, so that it is looping around the lower part of your biceps, like in the first picture. Then grasp the rifle, roughly underneath where the rear sight would be on a ShtLE. You want the sling to be as tight as you can get it, without being drastically uncomfortable. It should put a fair bit of pressure on your arm, so it can take some getting used to.

Apologies if the pictures are too large

If you have an SMLE with the swivel attach point just forward of the magazine well, just move the rear swivel up and utilize it there. It's a great set-up. (The pivoting swivel on the No.4 (T)s is merely a fancy version of the same concept.)
