If theres any one out there with a scopeless SMLE HT Sniper looking for a scope theres a patt18 with rings (no mounts) ser#3650 dated 1945 on E-Bay item #180697122562.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Thankyou for the heads-up! I've checked it out against my database- The assembly number hasn't appeared in my research, so it's a new find. I have messaged the seller to inquire about the rifle serial number. I can say it was completed and sent to store in August '45, but need the rifle number for any more info...

Given the scarcity of pattern 1918 scopes and rings I am stunned that the afore mentioned scope sold for only AU$840. Thats got to be the bargain of the century, if it was a fellow forum user WELL DONE

. Its a shame we cant get a hold of NO32's for that money!
