Retrofit a hinged M14 buttplate to an M1
Has anyone every tried to retrofit a hinged M14 buttplate on to an M1?

hinged M1 rifle buttplate
Here are some photos of an M1 buttplace that was modified to use the hinged M14 buttplate, at some point in time, it became un-glued. Most of the buttplates were aluminum and not steel like this one.
During the late 1930's, the Model 1917 rifle buttplate was modified to use a hinged buttplate too, for the 1918A1 BAR.

And as for musketshooter, if you check the book you will see the model that used the BAR mag and full auto.
