What Should I Look for Next?
I have a K31. With all the misery I've gotten lately from my rifles, this is still the only one to never give me any grief. So I'm running straight back to my Swiss rifles.
I'll probably get at least another K31 (or 6), but what else is a must have from the Swiss?

If you really want to have fun- find a vetterli and convert it to centerfire. My 1871 is very accurate and it is a fun and not terribly difficult project to do the conversion and make up ammo.

GET A K-11! (carbine version of the long 1911 model) Mine is every bit as accurate as my K-31. Trigger pull is just as smooth and light. The locking lugs are at the rear of the action but it shoots GP-11 just as good and strong as the K-31. The stock is a little less chunky and lighter so I've found the handling to be quicker. The sighting plane is a few inches shorter despite being overall nearly the same length, but that's not a big disadvantage at 100-200 yds. The best news is that they're currently cheaper than K-31s (but maybe not for long when people start figuring-out that they're just as much fun!)

Actually, the lugs are at the center, not the rear. The 1889 lugs are at the rear.

Played with Swiss rifles for many years Quality of construction is superb. Rifles out perform the 200 yard range I use. Don't invade Switzerland. gary

I am in a similar boat.
I am going to do 2 things. K-31 with diopter sights (probably Swiss Products as the original Swiss ones cost more than a new car) and a K-11. K-11 deals are out there right now.
