Thanks for all the advice. If a complete cleaning does not do the job I will look into springs. I have already suspected that the sear spring could be weak. I doubt that the problem is worn parts, but obviously will carefully inspect during the detail strip. This particular piece is one of those that came to the USAfrom New Zealand
. I paid the premium price for one that appears to have spent 40+ years in an armory without being issued.
