Hello, all. I'm a new member from Woodinville, WA. I recently (within the last year) came into possession of a 1903 Mk1 with a S/N of 115XXXX, a scant stock and a re-arsenal barrel dated 8-42. Given that it is a Mk1 from 1919, it is cut for a Pedersen device. I'm sure I'll be able to find all sorts of information on this site.
Oh yeah, did I mention the 1903 was a freebie?

Hi everyone, I am a NRA life member (approx. 40 years) and long time shooter. I live in Deer Park, Wa. (just north of Spokane) I have always been interested in military rifles and shoot them often. I own three #4 mk 2 (Irish contract), One Long branch #4mk1 and a BSA (Shirley) #4mk1. I am also heavily into making several replica K98 Mauser sniper rifles.
I am currently restoring a Lee Enfield #4 mk1* (T)? A friend of mine gave me the Savage, 2 groove barrelled action that had the original scope pads installed on the receiver. It also had the S51 stamp on the beech/birch butt stock and the original rear, modified sight (battle sight machined off). The original front sight did not have the protective guard. I had to obtain the rest of the parts over the past year or so. I am not sure if the scope base pad work was done by Holland and Holland. The base pads are soldered on. I thought I read that the S51 stamped on the butt stock was their designation.
My last purchase was the SARCO replica (T) scope mounts. The mount appers to fit the base pads perfectly. I installed a 1.5-6X32 Simmons Whitetail Expedition scope in the rings. It was the only 32mm objective scope that I had. The (T) scope mount limits you to a scope with a 32mm objective. When I look throught the scope the crosshairs are aligned with the barrel/front sight. I have not bore sighted the rifle yet. I am also looking at a vintage Weaver 4x scope that might fit the mount.
Just yesterday I fitted a replica cheek piece to the butt stock. The front forearm/upper wood was taken from a bubbafied, BSA #4 mk 1 that I restored with a aftermarket walnut stock. I am still looking for a beech forearm and upper wood to complete the Savage rifle.
The action screw that I picked up from Springfield Sporters is too long and I need to shorten it, but the threads need to be extended lower on the shank of the bolt. I do not have a Withworth die to cut the threads. Any ideas where to buy/borrow the correct die?
I am looking forward to learning more from the very knowledgable members and hope I can contribute to the forum. If anyone lives in the area and would like to talk restoring military rifles please feel free to give me a call. Thanks, Doug Rosso ( dcrosso01@q.com) 509-276-2836

New to the site but amazed by the amount of detailed technical knowledge displayed by the contributors.
I’ve owned a number of M1 Carbines over the years including one that came back from WWII with my dad from Borneo. He had borrowed it from a GI as he had found that their issued .303’s would not do the job in the jungles as well. He spoke very highly of the M1 as it had saved his bacon on a number of occasions.
Unfortunately the Government decided that shooters over here couldn’t be trusted with weapons of this type and they were outlawed and destroyed.
Even though I can’t legally own one I enjoy reading about them.
Thanks Guys.

New Member Intro
Good morning all,
I am a light collector/shooter over the past 15 years, now getting back into it. My limited military collection consisting of all WWII era serial numbered firearms includes a Springfield M1 Garand, a Rock Ola M1 Carbine, a Remington-Rand M1911 and my favorite, an all original Enfield No. 4 Mk 1 (T) sniper rifle with No. 32 scope
I have leaned a great deal from reading the discussions so far and look forward to learning more and contributing where I can add value.
Dan

Hello to all
New member looking for a very specific item. Hoping to find a hand guard Q-RMC made 0f cherry instead of walnut but would settle for a RMC in cherry. My stock is near mint and I hope to find a hand guard to match.
Thanks

Hello,
I have a number of old guns for sale. On in particular is a 1903A3 made by the Smith-Corona factory. It is in the original condition as i received it under a NRA program. Only the cosmoline has been cleaned off. The S/N is 3691578. Anyone care to provide an estimate of value. In addition I have a couple of unopened tins of 30-06 ammo obtained at the same time as the piece.
