Blonde cmp stocks, what gives?

Best place for questions like this is over on the CMP
forum...
Orest, the COO, of the CMP, explained, just a day or two ago, that as they sort through the M1
parts/pieces/rifles, they will come across M1 barreled receivers and trigger groups that have horrible stocks on them, dinged up, chipped, etc.
They put them in a new/newer stock.

I have been working on Military rifle stocks for a few decades and many things can happen. One of the biggest is dry cracks. Those rifles look as if they were refinished so there was probably damage to the rifles at one time. Rick B

On one visit to the CMP
warehouse to do research, we saw perhaps a hundred boxes labeled "Bad Stocks" stacked to the ceiling. In addition, you find guns with no stock in the returned crates.
Real men measure once and cut.
