Basically correct - assuming, of course, that you have the right bullet.But one can be a bit more precise about it ...
Color over the bullet with a felt-tip marker pen. Allow a minute to dry. Insert bullet in muzzle, press and twiddle. A bright ring will appear on the bullet, and if you measure the diameter of this ring you have a good idea how much rifling is left at the muzzle.
