No4T in 7.62

Thats a fascinating treatment on top of the charger bridge. Very carefully machined on , with lots of shapes on the underside. I assume its part of a scope mount but there's no sign of anything at the front of the receiver. Any ideas?

Its actually a 7.62mm charger guide; you come across them on some rifles. I'm not sure if they are the original type of Sterling charger bridge conversion before they switched to the clip insert, or whether these were made by Enfield as part of the L8 parts run along with the magazines.
