Easy Chuck, I'm not looking for one particularly, have 5 of various flavors. None bought up here. Last gun show in the fall had a total of 3, a SC that was so so, $900 firm, the other two were junkers for $600 and $750 and I would'nt give $500 for either. Dropped by a gun shop last week, ONE SC with an after market stock, RA barrel and a 10 cent park it all job, $1300. Another one, Rem 1903 at another gun shop, $1295, better than the other in originallity, but you could get it for what usually is $800 or a bit less in an on line auction. The Palmer Gun Show is the premier show pretty much and there will be a few at that one, not a lot like you find down south. There are collecters up here, I know several but it isn't anything like down there. Heck, in one day I could hit 5 states and a couple gun shows down there in the time it would take me to drive to the Canadian
border here and not see a town over 100 people.
And, although there are a number of good gunsmiths here, there is one and only one outfit that does park that I know of. Cost?..couple hundred if your lucky. If I need something like that, I'll send it to you!!!

Yup, went home with bait only! I do have a CMP
membership, good cause and you never know if something will come up. Might be another option for Fogel, good suggestion.

Check out Creedmoor Sports and what they have coming soon. 03A3's and A4 replicas. They don't sell junk. A little over a grand for the A4, under that for a standard a3. They're shooters intended for games matches.

Like Chuck said, trying to put good and cheap together just doesn't work. I read about all the great "deals" out there on this and that and I have to tell you DO NOT go to gun shows in my area and expect to find a deal on 03/03A3 stuff. Prices on 03/03A3's and M-1 carbines are nothing short of nuts. Garands have kind of calmed down a bit. We have gun show exhibiters coming from 5 states away trying to sell their wares which surprised me. I asked one guy why he came here from Kentucky and he said because you folks pay more than most other places closer to home. I can only assume that because of the hoopla over vintage sniper matches that almost anything 03/03A3 related is considered fair game for higher prices and any 03/03A3 part or accessory is now labeled "Sniper" which simply means more money. Flame off.....Rick H.

Creedmore Sports got their hands on a pallet of Drill Rifles? Just where in the world did they find them? Not so sure I would pay a Grand for a Drill Rifle.

How much would it cost to buy an authentic a4, and how much to build from parts? Vs. Buying a replica that you can put 4000 rounds through then rebarrel because you're not worried about devaluation. It's collecting versus shooting. If I had an authentic one I'd be hesitant to put the round counts I put through my across the course rifles. It's what you want to do with it and that needs to be the first decision before starting a project. I'm not going to take one of my 1911 s us property marked made in 1914 and build a hardball gun.
