1941 Long Branch
A few weeks back I was looking through the most recent Rock Island Auction listings and noticed a 1941 Long Branch in one of the lots. It appeared to be a genuine early LB. I already have 1941, so I didn't bid on the lot, but wondered if anyone here on the forum did?

The rifle was in a lot of 5 rifles. I have the catalog to hand and will list the other rifles tomorrow (too tired right now). What got me was the fact that the rifles went for, I think, $4250. This was way over the estimated value ($700 to $1100), and I have not checked to see if any of the other rifles were especially rare and/or valuable.

I don't like Rock Island as they mix C&R weapons with modern in their "lots" and there by exclude C&R licensees from the party.

WOW! I missed seeing that one on my cruise through the catalogue. 1L33--nice low number, and looks complete. The price must have been pretty much completely for that item, since it was in with a Mosin Nagant, a late Belgian Mauser, a South American Mauser and something or other else. For that kind of money, I would have wanted to handle it myself.

Looking back, the bayonet pictured under the Long Branch may have been cruciform.

Estimated values are written to encourage bidder interest.

True, Surpmil, and I only mentioned the estimated value in passing to fill in some details.
