British .303 ammo ID. Cordite?
Can anyone verify that these are:
Kynoch Factories, Imperial Chemical Industries Ltd., Birmingham, England
Greenwood & Batley Ltd, UK
Royal Ordnance Factory, Blackpole, UK
Got this ammo with a Sht LE III* Enfield. I have never seen this but I assume it's cordite. They are all loaded with this. I want to know if this stuff is safe to shoot out of my Enfields? Corrosive?
Is there a site I could go to and check Cartridge /headstamp ID? TIA

Definately cordite. I'd use it, but expect some hangfires. Clean as corrosive. It blasting ammo.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

The first round (B^E) is from the Royal Ordnance Factory, Blackpole, and the other two are as you say. All are cordite loaded and safe to shoot from your Enfield because that is what they were made for!
The only caveat is that depending on how they have been stored for the last sixty years the primers may be click-bang or just click by now.
They will have corrosive primers, as do all British military .303, but so what? Just clean the rifle appropriately, it only takes a few minutes.
The headstamp site given in the previous post is OK fro basic factory identification but has a fair number of errors. What you really need is my book on identification of British military .303. PM for details.
Regards and enjoy your SMLE,

Great info thanks. Since I pulled a couple bullets I decided to "pop" the primers and see (only 3 done) if the primers worked. 2 went pffft, one went pow. Hope that's not an indicater of the % of duds. But again they came with the rifle so I'm up 500 rds. no matter what.

Misfires can be pulled and the bullets are very usable. Lots of guys would take them off your hands.
