Pioneer blade?

I've seen discriptions of bayonets that identified the blade as a pioneer blade. It seems some have narrow fullers but I haven't been able to find a for sure definition of what a pioneer blade is. All the bayonets I remember being called pioneer are german, best I can recall. Thanks.

The sawback bayonets. That's the general description of the pioneer bayonets with sawbacks.

The Swiss Army made a nice M1914 Pioneer bayonet. Blade has a fuller one side. The other is plain so you can use it as a saw. ( There are photographs on another post).

A pioneer in most of the world's armys is known in ours as an engineer. So his bayonet is more heavy duty and used more a a tool for chopping things than sticking people. Thus the saw blades on some. He is the guy out ahead of the infantryman building bridges, clearing mines and blowing things up.
