Yes, I too went through the "I'll get a sporter and try to make it original" phase as well. 10 years later, I found this one for big dollars, and the first and only one I've found so far. There are probably more around, but I can't find them for sale.

I still would like to find an original 1894 Lang Krag. I'll think about selling this carbine then, maybe....
