A Green Party President ordered all of the bolt guns destroyed as Norways part of the SALT Treaty. Note: the Italians destroyed piles of 7.62mm Garands for the SALT Treaty. Steve, the destruction of the bolt action Mausers owned by Norway were in no way connected to the SALT treaties I and II. You can hardly connect a strategic arm to a Mauser rifle. The SALT treaties were in the 70's not the 90's. Norway's Green Party did this on their own. However you cut it, it was a sad day for collectors. It is rumored that the K98icon's Russiaicon stored were in a round about way connected to the SALT treaty as they removed the front sight protector, cleaning rod and the little screws that locked the triggerguard action screws. Boy, what a huge success that was in the eyes of our politicos!Regards, Rick.
